> 3vis Team Raised $2,125 for Prostate Cancer Challenge
The "3vis GOT STACHES TEAM" participated in the Movember movement for Prostate Cancer. They grew mustaches for the month of November and raised $2,125. The 3vis principals, Sylvain, John, David and Stephan would like to thank all that have donated to this cause!
The funds raised go directly to Prostate Cancer Canada.

Autodesk University is an annual conference where all Autodesk products are represented. More than 600 classes are given by speakers from the industry who teach classes on very specific subjects for which they are world class experts.
Louis Marcoux from Autodesk made available online on his blog a series of tutorials. The videos are from a class he gave at Autodesk University in 2007. The class was about animation techniques to reveal models over time. Various techniques were covered and he gave a few examples in the class. Please note that they have been recorded in 2007 but were never made public.

Turtle 5.0’s redesigned global illumination algorithms brought substantial productivity boosts along with improved visual quality. A range of other new features were also included, such as the streamlined user interface, that provides much easier handling of Turtle attributes, and a unified workflow for surface transfers and texture/vertex baking. Performance was specially optimized for global illumination calculations, which together with the new adaptive anti-aliasing scheme allows for superfast previews as well as very high quality images. Turtle 5.1 will be available in the next few weeks.

This webinar will show you the benefits of the expanded tool-set of the Autodesk 3ds Max Entertainment Creation Suite. Raw motion capture will be brought into Autodesk® MotionBuilder® where it is easily cleaned up and edited together. The resulting animation can then be brought into Autodesk® 3ds Max® for further animation. With our character in 3ds Max, we can then export out the character’s head to Autodesk® Mudbox™ to create morph targets for animation. We will bring this all back into 3ds Max for final animation and rendering using the Autodesk interchange format FBX.
